UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) - A former Prince George’s County liquor board chairman has pleaded guilty to drunken driving charges stemming from a crash outside a casino last year.
The Washington Post reports (https://wapo.st/2r3O7Pw) that Charles Caldwell III pleaded guilty Friday, sentenced to probation before judgment for one year and ordered to pay a $645 fine.
Caldwell was leaving the MGM National Harbor in December when he collided with at least one other vehicle. A police report says Caldwell told officers he didn’t remember the crash. The police report said Caldwell also referenced his job as liquor board chairman and asked the officers if there is any way they could make the incident “go away.”
Caldwell’s attorney declined to comment to the newspaper after the hearing.
