PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Massachusetts woman has pleaded guilty to charges she arranged for the transportation of heroin to be brought from Mexico to Rhode Island.

Olga Lidia Sandoval, of Attleboro, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty Monday in federal court in Providence to charges of possession of more than a kilogram of heroin with intent to distribute and conspiracy. A sentencing date hasn’t been set.

Federal authorities say Sandoval was arrested last May after state police seized and searched the truck that Sandoval and her co-conspirators were using to smuggle drugs.

Authorities say the search revealed more than six kilograms of heroin inside the axle of the truck.

Prosecutors say investigators learned of plans for a shipment of heroin to be driven from Mexico, paid for in Rhode Island and distributed throughout New England.
