BOSTON (AP) - Gov. Charlie Baker says the state identified and corrected about a year ago the software vulnerability that experts say has been exploited in the current global wave of cyberattacks.

While there have been no reports of state government computers being affected by “ransomware” attacks in recent days, Baker said Monday that cybersecurity is “something we obviously worry about all the time.”

An estimated 200,000 computers in more than 150 countries have been hit by the virus that experts say exploits a weakness in older Microsoft software.

The Republican governor says he expects his administration to make some proposals in the near future for ways of further strengthening cybersecurity.
