DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - Flexsteel Industries has announced it will keep its manufacturing operations, along with 200 jobs, in Dubuque.
The announcement comes seven months after the upholstered and wood furniture company said it would close its Dubuque manufacturing facility at the end of this year.
Chief Financial Officer Tim Hall said Friday the company will spend at least $25 million on a new plant in Dubuque, with construction to begin later this year. The Telegraph Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2qeyXnh ) that production will be shifted from Flexsteel’s existing facility to the new site by the fall of 2018.
Hall says company officials looked at other locations, but that Dubuque’s workforce ultimately convinced the company to stay put.
