FRASER, Mich. (AP) - A suburban Detroit charter high school is expected to reopen Monday after a dozen students and two teachers who reported feeling ill were hospitalized.
The Macomb Daily of Mount Clemens reports (https://bit.ly/2q8BRf1) that the Arts Academy in the Woods in Fraser was closed Friday as authorities tried to determine the source of the illnesses.
The school was evacuated Thursday after some students in two classrooms complained of coughing, dizziness and breathing problems. Fraser Public Safety Lt. Michael Pettyes said some students also were vomiting.
Two students remained hospitalized Friday, but were expected to be released.
Air quality tests have been conducted. The newspaper says officials were focusing on the building’s ventilation system.
The school is north of Detroit and has about 350 students.
