GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) - Deputies arrested two men and a woman following a brazen theft at the Josephine County Public Works yard in Grants Pass.

The Daily Courier reports (https://bit.ly/2qcbVPA) the stolen equipment was recovered at a property near Rogue Community College. Sheriff Dave Daniel says the three were likely squatting at the property owned by someone in Illinois. Six other people have recently been arrested at the same spot.

Public Works Director Rob Brandes says the thieves cut a hole in a back fence to gain access Tuesday night. He says it would have taken two full-sized pickups to haul the equipment.

One of the pieces was a John Deere air compressor valued at $15,000. It was found in good condition.

The suspects are 39-year-old Lukas Short, 25-year-old David Dean and 22-year-old Shelby Ann Dean. They were also wanted on warrants for failing to appear on drug charges.
