BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) - Several charges were dropped against two central Pennsylvania women who police say were involved in another woman’s overdose death.

The Centre Daily Times reports (https://bit.ly/2pB6tT3 ) that 24-year-old Sabine Graham, of State College, and 21-year-old Maria Gilligan, of Bellefonte, attended preliminary hearings Wednesday. Both women face felony charges related to the overdose death of 35-year-old Corinne Pena.

Police say Pena met with Graham and Gilligan to find heroin in 2016. Authorities say the group then traveled to Lock Haven to buy some.

Lawyers for Graham and Gilligan argued that their case should be transferred to Clinton County because there was no evidence that the drug was given to or ingested by Pena in Centre County.

A judge dismissed eight felony charges of possession with intent. A trial has been scheduled for a later date.
