SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A California man who had been convicted of killing his father nearly two years ago has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/2qXRx6c ) 28-year-old Robert Carlo Yandolino had been sentenced Wednesday. He received additional sentences aside from life in prison for the use of a firearm in the murder, attempting to murder a different man, discharging a firearm with intent to murder and domestic abuse and assault.

Yandolino had been convicted of fatally shooting his father in May 2015. He then shot at his father’s ranch manger, who had witnessed Yandolino shoot his father. Evidence during the trail had indicated the gun malfunction when Yandolino shot at the ranch manger. He survived and had been able to identify Yandolino as the shooter.
