CHESAPEAKE, Va. (AP) - The case against a Virginia man accused of killing his brother and police officer father will proceed to court.
The Virginian-Pilot reported Wednesday (https://bit.ly/2qst48S) that Zachary Toothman waived his right to a preliminary hearing to review the case. He’s scheduled to appear in Circuit Court in Chesapeake June 6. A trial date will be set at that time.
The alleged shootings occurred at the family’s home in August. Officers found Detective Michael Toothman and 17-year-old son Matthew dead. Toothman’s mother Susie was wounded and released from the hospital later that night.
The 20-year-old Toothman faces two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder, among other charges.
