Film crews for an Amazon series to star John Krasinski (“The Office”, “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi”) are shooting in Maryland and D.C. over the next few days, the Baltimore Sun reported Thursday.

The Maryland Film Office confirmed that scenes were being shot for the upcoming series, which is based on a young Jack Ryan, the CIA analyst in numerous Tom Clancy works, The Sun reported.

Hired in August to play the lead in the 10-episode series, Mr. Krasinki will portray Ryan as he is “thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time,” Variety reported. “He uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.”

But while Mr. Krasinski is reportedly enjoying the role, including doing some of his own stunts, neither he nor any other celebrities were on hand for Thursday’s shoot, a crew member who was not authorized to speak on the record told a Baltimore Sun reporter.

Filming will resume in Easton Friday before returning Saturday to D.C., The Sun reported.
