PORTSMOUTH, Va. (AP) - Officials say thousands of people have lost power after a car hit a pole.

The Virginian-Pilot reports (https://bit.ly/2qYd1Mn) a Dominion Energy outage map shows that a vehicle crash caused over 2,000 people to lose power Tuesday in Portsmouth.

Dominion spokeswoman Bonita Billingsley Harris says a car hit a pole, which caused significant damage.

Harris says crews have been restoring power to as many customers as possible by rerouting them to an alternative feed.

Authorities haven’t said if the driver suffered any injuries.
