McKegney has been released from custody, and is to appear in court in Belleville on May 18.

McKegney played 13 seasons in the NHL from 1978 to 1991 with the Buffalo Sabres, Quebec Nordiques, Minnesota North Stars, New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks. He had 320 goals and 319 assists in 912 regular-season games and 24 goals and 23 assists in 79 playoff games.
