NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a 60-year-old employee has died while working at a South Carolina paper mill.
The Charleston County Coroner’s Office identified the dead worker as Lawrence Shiner of Moncks Corner. He was killed Sunday night at the KapStone, but the cause of his death was not given.
KapStone said in a news release that a second employee was injured and taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released.
The statement from the company did not say what happened to the employees, but said they were doing maintenance in an area of the mill that needed repairs.
The state Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation is investigating the death.
