LAS VEGAS (AP) - University of Nevada Las Vegas students and local Jewish community leaders are calling for an end to recent acts of anti-Semitism in Las Vegas and across the United States.
The Las Vegas Sun reports (https://bit.ly/2lYz1Vd ) that nearly 200 protesters marched Monday in response to graffiti imagery featuring swastikas and anti-police messages found in a UNLV student residential area last week.
Organizers of the march say the recent graffiti’s impact is magnified by a sense of growing anti-Semitism nationwide.
Nazi-themed graffiti and other acts of anti-Semitism have been documented in increasing numbers since the November election.
On Jan. 9, bomb threats were made to 16 Jewish community centers in nine states. Nine days later, bomb threats were made at 27 other Jewish community centers across 17 states.
