GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - The Cascade County sheriff’s office is investigating a weekend stabbing death as a homicide.

Sheriff Bob Edwards says the 41-year-old man’s death was initially reported as a suicide on Sunday afternoon. However, deputies believed the circumstances of the man’s death were suspicious.

Edwards says a person of interest in the stabbing is jailed on unrelated charges.

The victim’s body will be taken to the state crime lab in Missoula for autopsy. The man’s name will be released after his family members are notified.
