PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Fire department investigators are seeking the cause of a massive fire at a northeast Philadelphia aquatic fitness and physical therapy center that injured two people.

The blaze at the Aquatic Fitness Center and Aquahab Physical Therapy building in the city’s Torresdale neighborhood was reported shortly after 11 a.m. Monday.

The fire department said more than 150 firefighters and 50 pieces of apparatus were sent to battle the flames. Two people were taken to a hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

Fitness center president and CEO Matt Littman said in a statement that the facility sustained severe damage but “we’re committed to rebuilding our northeast Philadelphia location.”
