DIXON, Iowa (AP) - A workshop is being held in eastern Iowa to give potential volunteers information on ways to help at Wapsi River centers in Dixon.

The Quad-City Times reports (https://bit.ly/2mmssfd ) that the Friends of the Wapsi Center volunteer roundup will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Wapsi River Environmental Education Center.

During the workshop, potential volunteers can learn about the center and the Friends of the Wapsi, a nonprofit volunteer group that supports conservation education.

Activities will include a naturalist-led tour and hike around the Eagle View Eco-Center, learning about year-round outdoor recreation opportunities through Scott County Conservation, tips on how to become an effective docent and how to care for the education animals.
