SEATTLE (AP) - The King County Library System director has resigned after library officials said he violated the code of conduct.

The Seattle Times reports (https://goo.gl/kCBdZr ) 50-year-old Gary Wasdin stepped down Wednesday during a library board of trustees meeting.

A spokesman says Wasdin had been asked to leave the library’s Issaquah, Washington headquarters for what he described as “personnel issues.”

Wasdin, who had been in the post for over two years and was paid a salary of $200,000, couldn’t be reached for comment. He worked previously as the executive director of the Omaha Public Library in Nebraska.

Finance Director Dwayne Wilson will have legal signing authority until the board selects an interim director.
