NASHUA, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire judge won’t suspend the remaining sentence of a man serving prison time for a crash that killed his 14-year-old son.

The Nashua Telegraph (https://bit.ly/2nlSPlo ) reported this week that a Superior Court judge denied a motion by 40-year-old Nghia Huyunh (KNEE’ ha Whinn) to suspend the remainder of his two-year prison sentence.

The judge called the sentence “appropriate.”

Huynh’s motion had argued he’s “very unlikely to reoffend.”

Huynh pleaded guilty in November 2015 to negligent homicide under a deal that called for a two to seven years.

He was arrested following the February 2014 crash in which his car flipped over the center barrier on the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack.

His son, Kobe Huynh, was battling a life-threatening illness at the time and died from injuries in the wreck.
