President Trump will host King Abdullah II of Jordan at the White House Wednesday, his first face-to-face meeting with the key U.S. ally in the Middle East.
The White House said Friday that Mr. Trump and the king “will exchange views on a range of shared interests in the Middle East, including how the United States and Jordan can best defeat the Islamic State terror group, end the conflict in Syria, and advance peace between Israelis and Palestinians.”
The two leaders will also discuss “how to further strengthen cooperation between the United States and Jordan and promote peace and prosperity in the Middle East,” the White House said.
Mr. Trump also will host Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at the White House on Monday, seeking greater cooperation on counterterrorism and other issues.
