Mark Levin unloads on ‘mumbling’ Mitch McConnell, ‘pathetic mouthpieces’ over health care fail

Radio host Mark Levin is furious with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and lawmakers who are criticizing the House Freedom Caucus over last week’s failure to pass new health care legislation.

Listeners to “The Mark Levin Show” Tuesday heard “The Great One” blast Mr. McConnell as an unprincipled “old barnacle” who lacks the ability to forward the cause of freedom and liberty. He likened the Kentucky senator to a “mumbling homeless person” who places self-interest above virtues like honesty and integrity.

“Isn’t it funny we didn’t hear peep from Mitch McConnell while this battle was going on in the House? We didn’t hear peep from John Cornyn while this battle was going on in the House,” Mr. Levin said, Conservative Review reported. “Do you want to know why? They wanted it to fail! That’s why. They were never going to do the heavy lifting through the budget reconciliation process. They were never with the parliamentarian or the vice president sitting as president of the Senate. Never, ever — and they just proved it.”

The conservative host said Republican Sen. John Cornyn from Texas and allies in the media are using attacks on Freedom Caucus to conceal their true feelings about The Affordable Care Act.

“The word has been put out to their mouthpieces in the media, in the print media, in the internet media, in the Fox media: ’Trash the 18 conservatives. Give us cover. Give us cover because in truth we like Obamacare. We’ve abandoned our integrity — if we ever had it. We abandoned our virtue — if we ever had it.’ … They don’t really believe in liberty. Liberty is a lot of work. Liberty is a lot of work, and they don’t believe in it.”

Mr. Levin said he shudders to think of what men like Mr. McConnell and “sunshine patriots” would have done during the Revolutionary War or the Civil War.

“Now they advise Donald Trump from the pathetic Wall Street editorial page to certain pathetic mouthpieces on Fox … going on and on and on, ’Now it’s time to reach out to the Democrats.’ Exactly. Because they like big spending. They like borrowing. They like big government, despite their propaganda to the contrary. This is a game to them. This is just a debating event to them. To you and to me, it’s real life. It’s not a game.”
