OPINION:
I voted for Donald Trump because I thought he was serious about getting rid of Obamacare. Instead it turns out he was willing to go along with “Ryancare,” which is just Obamacare ’lite.’
Congress should pass a bill eliminating every facet of Obamacare and then pass a new law getting the federal government out of health care completely. It must allow the American people the freedom to buy insurance across state lines, form co-ops to get better deals, have health-savings accounts, etc. Give the insurance companies a maximum time to get their policies into effect, and then sign both bills into law at the same time. There should be no replacement for Obamacare. Give us the freedom to decide for ourselves.
Once that happens, the federal government will no longer be in the health-insurance business and no more tax money will be involved. Medicaid is nothing but welfare and can be handled later by the states. What a concept: freedom in America.
