BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - One of five suspects in the beating death of a man at a Vermont homeless camp is expected to plead guilty.
The Burlington Free Press reports that 26-year-old Allison Gee will plead guilty to a diminished charge of aggravated assault on Monday.
Thirty-eight-year-old Amos Beede of Milton, Vermont, was beaten May 22 as part of a dispute between two Burlington homeless encampments. Beede died of head injuries May 28.
Gee was among five people charged with murder in Beede’s death.
She will serve five years in prison as part of the plea deal. The hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The other suspects have pleaded not guilty.
