GORDO, Ala. (AP) - An infant who was the subject of an Amber Alert is now is state custody.

Gordo Police Chief Todd Hall tells local media 19-year-old Blake Perkins and 18-year-old Tandra Goff, the non-custodial parents of 11-month-old Christian Clay Perkins, are facing felony charges of interfering with custody. The two are expected to face further charges this week.

Hall says Perkins and Goff took the baby from a foster home in Gordo during the early morning hours Saturday.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert, and Hall says several phone calls and tips came in. Police located the baby safe in Saturday evening and arrested Perkins and Goff.

Hall says the infant is in custody of the Alabama Department of Human Resources and is in good condition,

It’s unclear if Perkins of Goff have attorneys.
