Cornell graduate student workers rally before union vote

ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) - Cornell University graduate student workers plan a rally days before a vote on whether to unionize.

American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten says she will rally with the graduate workers in Ithaca on Saturday afternoon.

The vote on whether to form a union begins Monday.

Weingarten attended Cornell.

The Ithaca Journal reports that the unionization effort has gained the support of Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick.
