PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The driver for two gunmen who killed a man and wounded two others at a Providence housing complex has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.
The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2n2UWLE ) that 27-year-old Henry Lopez was sentenced Friday in Superior Court. He had been charged with first-degree murder, but prosecutors reduced the charge to second-degree murder in a plea bargain Lopez accepted.
Lopez said he would take back his actions that day if he could.
Authorities say Lopez drove fellow gang members Bruce Moten and Tevin Briggs in 2014 to the Chad Brown housing complex, where Moten and Briggs fatally shot 22-year-old rival gang member Terry Robinson and wounded two other men.
Moten and Briggs are both serving life in prison. A fourth man who was arrested was acquitted.
