President Trump on Thursday kicked off a last-minute lobbying push for the House GOP’s health care legislation by urging Americans to call their members of Congress and assuring them the Republican plan is going to be “terrific.”

“Americans were told that Obamacare would bring down prices and increase options. You were told that you could keep your plan and keep your doctor,” Mr. Trump said in a video shared on the president’s official Twitter account.

“You were given many, many false stories. The fact is, you were given many lies,” he said.

“Go with our plan. It’s going to be terrific,” he said. “You’re going to be very, very happy. Call your local representative, call your senator - let [them] know that you’re behind our plan.”

Republican leadership has indicated the House plans to vote Thursday on the American Health Care Act, which repeals parts of Obamacare, but Mr. Trump and party leaders were still working to round up votes to get it across the finish line.
