DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - A Davenport man has pleaded not guilty in a February shooting death in the front yard of a home.

The Quad-City Times reports (https://bit.ly/2nNtINa ) that 27-year-old David Levy Jr. pleaded not guilty Thursday to first-degree murder and a weapons count in the Feb. 17 shooting of 33-year-old Lasabian Walker, of Rock Island, Illinois.

Levy is slated to be back in court April 14 for a pretrial conference. A trial is set for April 24.

Police say Levy shot Walker several times after they had argued.

Neighbors reported that they heard four shots. Witnesses identified Levy as the shooter, and police say they recovered a handgun belonging to Levy believed to have been used in the shooting.
