President Trump said a House vote to replace and repeal Obamacare Thursday is “vital” to fix a broken health care system.

Meeting with women health-care professionals at the White House Wednesday, the president acknowledged that the highly anticipated vote will be close.

“Big vote tomorrow in the House,” Mr. Trump said. “Millions of patients can no longer access the health care professionals they know and trust. That is one of the more vital reasons why we must repeal Obamacare.”

The meeting was hosted by Seema Verma, administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, on the roles that women are serving in the health-care field.

“Unfortunately, Obamacare is making it much harder for all of the doctors, nurses and health care professionals, men and women alike, to do their job,” Mr. Trump said. “It’s broken badly, the insurance companies are fleeing. Keep your doctor, keep your plan — it didn’t work out that way, you don’t get your doctor, you don’t get your plan. So it’s one of the reasons why we’re here today.”

House leaders say they will have enough votes to pass the administration-backed legislation, which is opposed by some conservatives and virtually all Democrats. Republicans can afford to lose only 21 GOP votes for the measure to pass, if no Democrats join them.
