SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Syracuse’s Tyler Lydon has decided to enter the NBA draft.

The star forward made the announcement on Instagram on Wednesday night. He says he made the decision after speaking with his family.

“It was a privilege to wear the Orange uniform alongside my teammates,” Lydon wrote. “I was honored to battle with you all every night. I am very excited about this next step in my career!”

The 6-foot-9 Lydon emerged as a bona fide star as a freshman in 2015-16 with a strong perimeter game and shot-blocking ability inside. He added 20 pounds of muscle in the offseason and averaged 13.2 points and a team-best 8.6 rebounds this past season.

In his two years in Orange, Lydon made nearly 40 percent of his 3-point attempts.
