AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Loggers are refusing to deliver wood chips and other biomass fuel to an electricity generator in Maine, saying they haven’t been paid since mid-February.

The Portland Press Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2nBFI3H ) the Professional Logging Contractors of Maine says loggers stopped delivering to Stored Solar.

The group says about a dozen, mostly family-owned logging companies were supplying the company. They’re usually paid within 10 days of deliveries.

Stored Solar declined to comment.

Central Maine Power says it wasn’t aware of the payment issue and couldn’t immediately comment on whether the utility still buys electricity from Stored Solar.

Stored Solar shares in a $13 million state subsidy that supports the state’s wood products industry.

The office of Republican Gov. Paul LePage didn’t immediately respond to an email seeking comment.
