NASHUA, N.H. (AP) - Six landlords have been arrested in New Hampshire on charges they had illegal gas work done on their properties.
Police said the arrests were sparked by an investigation by the Nashua fire department over complaints about gas odors within rental properties and elevated levels of carbon monoxide.
Two men from Nashua and one from Wakefield, Massachusetts, are charged with allowing an unlicensed person to work on furnaces. A Milford man and two from Nashua are accused of doing the work themselves despite not having a proper license.
If convicted, the landlords would face up to a year in prison and a fine not exceeding $2,000.
