RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina State will introduce new basketball coach Kevin Keatts on Sunday.
School officials say Keatts’ introductory news conference will be held at 1 p.m. from Reynolds Coliseum. N.C. State hired Keatts from UNC Wilmington on Friday to replace fired Mark Gottfried.
The 44-year-old Keatts is a former assistant to Rick Pitino at Louisville and two-time Colonial Athletic Association coach of the year. He led UNC Wilmington to a 72-28 record and two NCAA Tournaments in three seasons in his first head coaching job.
Gottfried took the Wolfpack to the NCAA Tournament four times in his six years at the school but was fired in February during a 15-17 finish.
