PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Cranston man has been sentenced to life in prison for the shooting death of a rival gang member in what authorities say was an ongoing feud.

The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2n4pRdw ) a judge on Thursday sentenced Tevin Briggs to life behind bars plus 60 years in connection with the shooting death of Terry Robinson.

The 22-year-old Robinson was killed in October 2014, minutes after attending the arraignment of a man in another gang-related killing. Prosecutors say he was sitting in a parked car outside a housing complex when Briggs and another man opened fire on the vehicle, killing Robinson and wounding one other person.

Authorities say the 23-year-old Briggs, an associate of the YNIC street gang, pleaded guilty to murder and other offenses in April 2015.
