MILWAUKEE (AP) - A drug suspect is dead after an encounter with police and federal agents in Milwaukee.
Authorities say officers from Milwaukee and West Allis and agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration were conducting an investigation Thursday evening, attempted to arrest a suspect and saw that he was armed. Police say shots were fired, striking and killing the suspect. Officials have not said who fired the shots. The man died at the scene.
Milwaukee police say the man’s firearm was recovered. No officers were injured and those involved are on desk duty. Wauwatosa police and a team of officers from across Milwaukee County are investigating.
