ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - An Orlando-based spa company started by former Disney executives is expanding its presence abroad.

Marilyn Monroe Spas said Monday that it was partnering with an Indian company to open 250 franchises in Mumbai, Delhi and other cities in India.

The franchises owned by La Vida Investment Holding are set to open later this year.

Marilyn Monroe officials say India represents one of the world’s largest markets for salons and spas. This is the first time the brand is expanding abroad.

The company currently operates luxury spas in California, Florida, Hawaii and New York.

The two-year-old company is privately held and doesn’t disclose revenue figures.
