PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - A Canon City man who pleaded guilty to his role in the death of a funeral director in 2012 has been sentenced to 10 years of probation.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports (https://goo.gl/NmnLnw ) 46-year-old Anthony Wright was sentenced Tuesday in the death of 76-year-old Byron Griffy, a longtime school board member and funeral director in the Arkansas Valley. Griffy was found shot in his Fowler home Oct. 12, 2012.

Wright pleaded guilty in January to being an accessory to first-degree murder. He was originally charged with first-degree murder, but his 2015 trial ended with a hung jury.

Wright was allegedly involved in the slaying with Charles Giebler, who was the mayor of Florence. The 52-year-old Giebler died in 2013 before the investigation was complete.

Wright and Giebler owned a funeral home together and knew Griffy through the business.
