HENRIETTA, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have identified the two people killed in a fire at a suburban Rochester home that was being powered by a generator after last week’s windstorm.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office identifies the victims Tuesday as 86-year-old Marion Simon and her 26-year-old grandson, Jacob Simon.

Deputies say both were found dead by firefighters who battled last Sunday’s early morning blaze at the grandmother’s home on Bradford in the town of Henrietta, just south of Rochester.

Officials say the blaze was an accident likely started in a fireplace or by a generator that was being used at the house. The house was among the more than 80,000 homes and businesses in the Rochester area that lost power during last Wednesday’s windstorm.

The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
