Rep. John Yarmuth, Kentucky Democrat, said Monday he doesn’t think President Trump is “emotionally stable” enough to serve in his current job.
“This is not somebody, in my mind, who is emotionally stable enough to be president of the United States. I have real serious concerns about this,” Mr. Yarmuth said on MSNBC.
Mr. Yarmuth said recently at a speech to a local chapter of the NAACP that Mr. Trump “doesn’t portray someone who is in control of his facilities.”
He said Monday he doesn’t regret those comments.
“I’ve been saying recently that I do want a president who is able to take that 3:30 a.m. call. I don’t one who sits up all night waiting for it,” he said.
“I think that’s what we have. We have a president who is up all night, who’s tweeting at all kinds of crazy hours, who’s making unsubstantiated claims that are really dangerous, who’s concerned himself with trivial matters like the ratings of ’The Apprentice,’ ” he said.
