HENRIETTA, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a fire has killed two people in a suburban Rochester home that still was without power because of last week’s windstorm.

Officials in the Monroe County town of Henrietta say the blaze was reported around 3 a.m. Sunday on Bradford Road. When firefighters arrived on the scene the back of the house was on fire.

It took crews about an hour to extinguish the fire. When they entered the home they found two people dead inside. Their names haven’t been released.

Officials say the blaze was an accident likely started in a fireplace or by a generator that was being used at the house. The house was among the more than 80,000 homes and businesses in the Rochester area that lost power during last Wednesday’s windstorm.
