BOSTON (AP) - Sen. Elizabeth Warren has voted against initial approval of President Donald Trump’s nominee for housing secretary.

Warren’s vote Wednesday follows her January vote in favor of Ben Carson. That vote came after Carson appeared before the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, of which Warren is a member.

Carson cleared Wednesday’s preliminary Senate hurdle on a bipartisan 62-37 vote. His confirmation vote is likely Thursday.

Warren defended her earlier support for Carson, saying that while she had profound concerns about his inexperience, he had made promises to protect anti-homelessness programs and enforce fair housing laws.

Not all of Warren’s supporters were happy at the time, prompting the Massachusetts Democrat to post a defense of her vote on Facebook.

Warren’s office didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday.
