ACTON, Mass. (AP) - Police are investigating after an SUV backed over a grocery store worker in Acton, killing her.
Police say the driver was backing up in the parking lot of a Trader Joe’s on Tuesday night when he hit a store worker. She died at the scene. The woman’s name hasn’t been released but police say she is in her 60s.
The driver remained at the scene. He has not been charged.
Police Chief Richard Burrows says they’re questioning the driver, but says the death appears to be “a tragic accident.”
Trader Joe’s says it’s closing the store on Wednesday out of respect for the woman and her family.
