MASHPEE, Mass. (AP) - Police have released the name of the Cape Cod toddler who was killed last week when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by a family acquaintance.

The Cape Cod Times (https://bit.ly/2md2dLK ) reports that Mashpee police on Tuesday identified the victim as 14-month-old Camden Ahanu Hendricks.

Camden, a member of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, died Friday night following the accident on Coombs Lane. The boy was initially brought to Falmouth Hospital in critical condition but he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver has been identified but police have not released his name publicly. No charges have been filed.

Police are investigating whether the vehicle was functioning properly. Police declined to say whether drugs, alcohol or speed were factors in the death.
