OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has upheld the manslaughter convictions and prison sentence of a man convicted of killing a Hominy couple in an automobile collision.
In a ruling filed Wednesday, the court rejected appeals of 58-year-old Rodney Dale Justus. Justus was convicted and sentenced to 50 years in prison for two counts of first-degree manslaughter, possession of marijuana and driving left of center in a 2013 crash in Pawnee County that killed Glenn Edwards and Linda Lou Edwards.
Justus’ appeal questioned the eligibility of a juror, the effectiveness of his attorney, whether there was sufficient evidence to convict him and the admittance of certain photographs at his trial.
The appeals court turned away each claim.
