DOVER, Del. (AP) - A Delaware nurse is accused of forging co-workers’ names to get opiate pain medication and other drugs.
The News Journal of Wilmington reports (https://delonline.us/2lyrfkU ) 57-year-old Joanne F. Bogardus of Dover faces forgery charges in what police say was a scheme to obtain prescription drugs while working as the nursing director of New Castle Health and Rehabilitation Center.
The Delaware Board of Nursing found Bogardus had no witness, as required by the rehab center, when she disposed of more than 500 doses of various unused medication. They also found she forged the names of other nurses on documents, making it appear as though they witnessed her destroy medication.
The board ordered Bogardus’ license to be suspended for 60 days pending a disciplinary hearing. It’s unclear whether she has an attorney.
