LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A Louisville man arrested in a sex trafficking sting around the time of the Kentucky Derby has pleaded guilty in federal court.

Keith L. Napier, Jr., 27, pleaded guilty in United States District Court on Tuesday to a charge of sex trafficking of a minor. A release from the U.S. Attorney’s office says Napier admitted that he enlisted the help of a 14-year-old girl to help him earn money to pay off debts by performing sex acts that he would set up. Officials say that lasted from March to May of this year, as Napier would shuttle the girl to appointments for sex, usually at hotels.

The investigation was opened during a prostitution sting coinciding with the Kentucky Derby.

Napier had faced up to 10 years in prison if convicted at trial.
