LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Google Fiber will begin building its ultrafast network in a Kentucky city.
The Courier-Journal reports (https://cjky.it/2sHvXR9 ) the company shared the news with Louisville officials on Wednesday. Grace Simrall, technology czar for the mayor, says the historic Portland neighborhood will be the first area to receive the high-speed internet technology.
Metro Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton, who represents the Portland neighborhood, says the area desperately needs high-speed internet access and that it will help spur economic development.
