BREMEN, Germany (AP) - Serge Gnabry is to leave Werder Bremen at the end of the month, alerting a host of clubs reportedly interested in the 21-year-old Germany forward’s services.
Bremen says Gnabry informed the board of his decision in recent days, confirmed by sporting director Frank Baumann on Thursday.
Baumann says “Serge has informed us that he would like to take the next step in his career. He will therefore activate a clause in his contract and leave the club at the end of the month.”
Gnabry, who joined Bremen from Arsenal last year, scored 11 goals and set up two more in 27 Bundesliga games for the club.
He also earned his first call-up for Germany, scoring a hat trick on his debut in a rout over San Marino last November.
