SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The world’s largest internet-based retailer, Amazon, will be building a facility in Utah with help from a $5.6 million state tax incentive.
The facility is expected to create at least 130 jobs in the next eight years and involve a capital investment of $200 million.
The Governor’s Office of Economic Development awarded Amazon the post-performance tax credit rebate on Thursday.
Gov. Gary Herbert says the facility will be huge for Utah residents. It will likely be located in Salt Lake City.
Company officials say the 130 jobs will pay 110 percent of the average wage in the county where the plant is built.
