MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The nephew of former Sen. Herb Kohl is one of two Democrats who have emerged to challenge incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman for the east-central Wisconsin district he’s represented since 2015.
USA Today Network-Wisconsin reports Thursday (https://tiny.cc/phvply ) that Dan Kohl and Scott Olmer say they are running for the 6th Congressional District next year.
Olmer runs a marketing consulting business in Plymouth. Kohl worked at his uncle’s business, the Milwaukee Bucks, for 14 years as a talent scout, salary cap specialist and assistant general manager.
Both say that dissatisfaction with President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans will carry Democrats to a win in a district that has elected only Republicans since 1964.
Republican Party of Wisconsin spokesman Alec Zimmerman criticized Kohl as out-of-touch with Wisconsin voters.
